Leadership Team
Our History
Hazeltine Executive Search was founded in November 2015 by Chad Spencer with one mission: to revolutionize the executive and professional search industry. After six years of success doing search the “typical” way—sending resumes, chasing candidates, and relying on volume—Chad asked a simple but transformative question:
“How can we add more value to our clients, save them more time, and deliver better candidates?”
That question sparked the creation of The Hazeltine Process —a video-first, insight-driven approach that replaces inefficiency with clarity and guesswork with precision. Over the years, it’s become our greatest differentiator and the foundation of everything we do.
While most recruiters are out of the business within 12 months, Hazeltine has grown year over year through one thing: results. Our firm is built on repeat clients, word-of-mouth referrals, and a reputation for delivering elite finance talent others simply can’t reach or close.
We believe great recruiting is more than filling a job. It’s about helping our clients make confident decisions with speed, accuracy, and insight—and doing it in a way no one else can.
Our Leadership

CHAD R. SPENCER
FOUNDER AND MANAGING PARTNER
Chad Spencer is the Founder and Managing Partner of Hazeltine Executive Search, where he leads the firm’s strategic direction and executive search practice. He is the visionary behind The Hazeltine Process—a first-of-its-kind model that’s revolutionizing how companies identify, evaluate, and hire executive and professional talent.
Mr. Spencer began his career in business advisory with Insperity (NYSE: NSP), consulting with small and midsize businesses on outsourced HR, finance, and operational strategy. He later led the Accounting & Finance practice at a regional search firm, where he recognized the opportunity to transform traditional recruiting by delivering deeper value and better outcomes to clients.
In November 2015, he founded Hazeltine with the mission to reimagine search from the ground up. Since then, the firm has grown into a trusted partner to private equity firms, public companies, founder-led businesses, and family offices across the country. Known for its video-first, insight-driven methodology, Hazeltine consistently delivers top-tier candidates—particularly those from Big Four accounting and investment banking backgrounds—into high-impact roles.
Under Mr. Spencer’s leadership, Hazeltine has earned a national reputation for speed, precision, and results. Most of the firm’s work comes from repeat clients and referrals, reflecting its strong performance and long-standing relationships.
Mr. Spencer holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Stephen F. Austin State University. Before entering the business world, he competed as a professional golfer on mini tours across the United States.
He resides in Texas with his wife, Rebeca, and their two boxers, Edison and Eisenhower. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, travel, and fine wine.
