Run real searches. Get coached. Build toward partnership.

We are hiring a Finance & Accounting search delivery lead in Houston. You pick up the phone, run searches end to end through The Hazeltine Process, and get coached by the partners on a path toward partnership.

The searches we're running

At any given time we're running retained searches and interim engagements across the finance suite: CFOs, Chief Accounting Officers, Controllers, VPs of Finance, M&A and IR leadership. Nearly all of them are confidential, which means the interesting ones are never listed on a job board, including ours.

Finance executives: exploring your next seat?

Tell us what you're looking for, confidentially. When a search matches, you'll hear the full story before anyone else does: the company, the situation, and why the seat is worth your time, in a Hazeltine Position Package, not a job description.

Join the interim bench

Big 4-trained or deal-tested and open to interim work? Our Finance Executives bench places CFOs, CAOs, Controllers, and transaction leaders into interim engagements. Video-vetted once, considered for everything after.

Careers at Hazeltine

This seat is for someone who wants to learn the craft, deliver great searches, and grow into an owner. Here is what that looks like.

01

Phone-first

You talk to candidates and clients every day, live. You stay organized, follow up, and keep every search moving. We hold you to outcomes and coach you on how to get them.

02

Coaching

Autonomy without development is just neglect. You work directly with the partners, on live searches, every week. The craft here has been sharpened since 2015 and it gets handed to you, not hoarded.

03

A reason to call

We pick up the phone. The video gives you a reason to call and a reason for them to call back.

04

A process that wins

Most passive candidates tell recruiters no. They tell us yes to reviewing the Position Package, and that is usually all it takes. You sell with better weapons than the firm across the street.

05

Clients worth keeping

PE sponsors, boards, CEOs of growing companies: clients who come back, refer us, and treat search like the strategic work it is. Most of our business is repeat and referral, and you inherit that goodwill.

06

A path to partnership

You start by delivering Finance and Accounting searches. As you prove you can run them well, you take on more clients, more ownership, and a seat at the table.

The honest part

Small firm, high standards, no place to hide. That's a feature for the right person and a dealbreaker for the wrong one, so let's save everyone time.

People who thrive here

  • Competitors: former athletes, top producers, people who keep score and like it
  • Organized people who like the phone and follow through
  • People who'd rather earn autonomy than be assigned it
  • Students of craft who actually want the coaching

People who won't

  • Anyone who needs the structure of a big-firm machine to move
  • People who want to stay off the phone
  • Recruiters who see search as transactions instead of relationships
  • Anyone allergic to being on camera; we're a video-first firm
The open seat

Finance & Accounting Search Delivery Lead, Houston

You'll run Finance and Accounting searches end to end through the Hazeltine Process, on the phone with candidates and clients every day, coached by the partners who built it. Strong performance builds toward partnership. We discuss compensation in the first conversation.

Read the Position Package

We build a Position Package for every search we run: the company, the seat, and why the right person should want it. It would be strange not to build one for our own. Ask us for it in your first conversation. It covers the firm, the seat, and the first 90 days, with the same candor we'd give a client's candidate.

How we hire

You'll go through the same process our clients pay for, which tells you more about us than any interview could.

1

Introduce yourself. A note and a LinkedIn profile beat a formal resume to start.

2

A structured video conversation, the same format we use with every executive we represent.

3

Meet the partners. Real talk about the seat, the path, and whether this is your place.

4

A decision inside two weeks. We don't ghost candidates, and we won't start with you.
